A little sad right now
November 18, 2009I have to admit it, I am.
I’ve been looking over the past two weeks of views, and really, its making me sad. I figured I wouldn’t be in the hundreds, sure. Hell, the double digits wasn’t something I was really expecting, I guess.
But I was expecting to see at least 1 view on any of my recent posts, notably my two new(ish) chapters. It makes me sad. Especially considering my original reader has apparently removed this page from his favorites. It makes me sad. I miss the comments. I miss the views.
Sigh.
Yeah, I guess that’s it. I’m out.

PS – I’mma go cry in my emo corner now.

Well maybe people are reading in RSS viewers, like I do? Those pesky things mean you get no page views. You could truncate what gets posted to RSS (I think there’s an option somewhere) and then people HAVE to click through to read the rest of the post.
What Ellira said.
And DO NOT truncate RSS feeds. Don’t. The vast majority of people won’t click anyway, and some will cut you off like a diseased hand, or not even pay attention to anything you write. I know, because I do this. I hate truncated RSS feeds with a passion.
Just check how many people are subscribed. It doesn’t matter if they visit. Besides, you’re not exactly advertising yourself, mister.
Yeah, not advertising is an issue.
I have a fear though, after seeing that one post of mine getting jacked, that if I advertise, I’ll get more posts stolen and all that. Which is also why my chapters are locked, which I’m sure also lowers my viewers.
But I ‘unno. Was just kind of hoping to get some comments, to be completely honest. So it worked, huzzah!
A cunning and underhand tactic, Mr!
And Shaun there is nothing wrong with truncating feeds. If you subscribed to it then you’re interested. Just because you’ll subscribe to anything at the drop of a hat doesn’t mean we all do that. *sticks tongue out* Besides, I don’t think you can find out how many people are reading through RSS on WordPress anymore. They used to show you, but then they took it away and I don’t think they put it back …
